Ms. Wheelchair America looks at lemurs at the Sedgwick County Zoo

Sedgwick County Zoo – Animals & accessibility galore

If you love animals as much as I do, then you must check out the Sedgwick County Zoo. From the adorable penguins (yes, they’re my absolute favorite) to the majestic elephants, this zoo has so much to offer. And the best part? It’s super accessible! Smooth pathways mean I can roll right up and enjoy every exhibit without a problem. Whether you’re going solo, bringing the family or making it a friend outing, Wichita’s zoo has something special for everyone.

Towne East Square – Where it’s all happening

This one’s a classic! Towne East Square is packed with all kinds of shopping, from clothes to gaming to beauty, all in one spot. A new addition is sports giant SCHEELS. They even have a pretty good food court if you’re looking for something quick and yummy between shops. And if you want to sit down for a meal, you’ll find some great spots just outside the mall  like my favorite, Bubba’s 33, where you can grab a bite and relax after a day of shopping.

Chicken N Pickle – Food, games & good times

Alright, y’all, this place is next-level fun. Chicken N Pickle has become a go-to for me because it’s got it all: good food, great atmosphere and the best part  tons of accessible activities! Whether I’m challenging friends to a game or just hanging out for some quality eats, I can be in my wheelchair and still fully join in on the games. It’s one of those places where you can come as you are and just have a blast. Oh, and did I mention the food? Get the wings. Trust me, you’ll leave happy and full.

Ms. Wheelchair America explores the outdoor shopping center Bradley Fair

Bradley Fair – Retail therapy done right

Now, if you are like me and shopping is your love language, then Bradley Fair is calling your name! This place is loaded with all my favorite stores: Sephora, Bath & Body Works (you know I’m stocking up during candle season), Victoria’s Secret, and my happy place, Barnes & Noble. There’s something special about the setup, too  it’s so open and easy to navigate. The entire vibe is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a day out to treat yourself and find a few new favorite things.

Museum of World Treasures – Perfect for all ages

Here’s one for all my fellow history lovers! The Museum of World Treasures is packed with cool artifacts from ancient mummies to real dinosaur skeletons, and it’s honestly just as exciting for us adults as it is for kids. Every time I visit, I find something new that catches my eye, and the whole setup makes it easy to explore and learn. If you’re a fan of history, this place is pure gold.
