The Visit Wichita sales team plays a vital role in attracting new conventions, conferences and events to Wichita and enhancing economic development by bringing these events to the city.

Marisa Pechanec, who has been with Visit Wichita for five years, working as a Convention Sales Coordinator and Convention Sales Manager, has been promoted within the organization to Director of Convention Sales.

“We are excited to promote from within and name Marisa as our new Director of Convention Sales,” said Susie Santo, President and CEO of Visit Wichita. “With her many years of sales and hospitality experience, we expect this new position to allow her to expand her relationships with meeting planners across the country and lead our sales team as they work to elevate Wichita on the map as a premier destination in the Heart of the Country to host meetings, conferences and other events.”

In this role, Pechanec will lead the Visit Wichita sales and services team, helping to showcase all the city has to offer to bring organizations, corporations and associations to Wichita. “I am excited to step into the role of Director of Convention Sales,” said Pechanec. “It's an incredible opportunity to showcase Wichita as a leading destination and work with an amazing team to bring impactful events to our city. I can't wait to build new relationships, drive growth and make a lasting impact."

Prior to Visit Wichita, Pechanec held various sales roles, including event sales at Kansas Star Casino and as catering sales manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Wichita Airport. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from The College of New Jersey.
