Visit Wichita has announced the addition of Corissa Mangus as its new partnership coordinator. In this role, Mangus will serve as a welcoming face to visitors at the Visitor Center while supporting Visit Wichita’s partnership initiatives and assisting with administrative and event coordination for the partnership department.

Mangus brings extensive experience in visitor engagement and education from her work at two of the nation’s top zoos. Most recently, she served as interpretive supervisor at the Sedgwick County Zoo, where she collaborated with the zoo’s education team on program and marketing needs, and supervised staff to enhance the visitor experience.

Prior to that, she spent more than 12 years with Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, where she held multiple leadership roles including visitor engagement coordinator and senior keeper in both the Hoofstock and Cats & Bears departments.

“We are thrilled to welcome Corissa to the Visit Wichita team,” said Shannon Uhrig, director of partnership development. “Her background in visitor engagement and her enthusiasm for connecting people to meaningful experiences make her a perfect fit for this role. Corissa’s passion for Wichita and her commitment to providing excellent service will strengthen our efforts to grow and support our community partnerships.”

As partnership coordinator, Mangus will greet visitors to the Visitor Center, answer inquiries and provide recommendations on things to see and do in Wichita. She will also assist with partnership onboarding, event execution and maintaining partner data within Visit Wichita’s systems.

Mangus said she looks forward to using her background in guest services and community engagement to continue sharing Wichita’s story.

“I’m excited to join the Visit Wichita team and help showcase all the amazing things our city has to offer,” Mangus said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with both visitors and local partners who make Wichita such a fun and unique Midwest destination.”
