While Wichita doesn’t have a Little Italy, the city still boasts some excellent Italian restaurants. Craving a Mediterranean diet? You can find it right here in the Air Capital. Pizza, lasagna, caprese salad? We’ve got you covered!
Siena Tuscan Steakhouse
Located inside the 4-star Ambassador Hotel, this downtown favorite has been serving refined Italian fare since 2012. The menu leans into central Italian traditions—think handmade pastas, rich risottos, and Tuscan-style takes on American steakhouse staples (like grilled asparagus with mascarpone). The wine list covers plenty of ground but shines brightest with DOCG-designated bottles from across Italy. Cocktails are thoughtful and inventive, though you’ll still find the classics done right—especially the Negroni!
Napoli Italian Eatery
Wichita’s Italian scene goes beyond the classics—there’s also a strong showing of Italian American comfort food, the kind that came out of 20th-century kitchens and stuck around for a reason. At Napoli, on the north side, chicken parmesan is the main event: a crispy cutlet layered with rich tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, served over tagliatelle. The restaurant opened in 2020 and quickly became a local favorite, thanks to its generous portions, relaxed patio seating and over-the-top desserts.
Piatto
Piatto takes a fresh approach to pizza in Wichita, using traditional Neapolitan techniques and a 900° brick oven imported from Italy. The result? Charred, tender crusts and simple, well-balanced toppings that let the ingredients speak for themselves.
Go classic with the Margherita, turn up the heat with the Diavolo, or try the Holy Kale—where house-made sausage pairs surprisingly well with the namesake greens. It’s thoughtful, precise pizza that’s rooted in tradition but made for right now.
Savute’s Italian Ristorante
A longtime favorite near Jones Park, Savute’s serves classic Italian-American comfort food in a laid-back, no-frills setting. The menu sticks to the hits—fettuccine alfredo, manicotti, baked chicken cacciatore, and build-your-own pizzas—all served in a space that feels equal parts bar, restaurant, and time capsule, complete with vintage decor and neon lights.
Angelo’s Italian Restaurant
Sometimes the classics are the best. Angelo’s has been a Wichita institution since 1959 and has remained busy, cooking some of the finest Italian food this side of the Mediterranean! Expect wholesome dishes such as lasagna, carbonara, and chicken alfredo, just like Nonna would make. You’ll find some other favorites on the subs menu, or and their build-your-own pizza option lets you get creative.
Additional Italian favorites, like Marchello's, Bella Vita Bistro and FioRito, add even more depth to Wichita’s dining scene. To continue your culinary exploration, browse our complete restaurant list for a deeper look at local dining options.
