Minor League Baseball returns to Equity Bank Park as the Wichita Wind Surge take the field for another exciting season in downtown Wichita. The 2026 season opener is April 2. As the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, the team brings future big-league talent to the city along with fireworks nights, themed promotions and a lively game-day atmosphere. Grab a hot dog, settle into the stands and enjoy one of the most fun nights out in Wichita.

Before or after a Wind Surge game, stop by the Wichita Baseball Museum, located inside Equity Bank Park. The museum celebrates the city’s rich baseball history, from the National Baseball Congress and minor league teams to legendary players with Wichita connections. Exhibits, memorabilia and historic photos help tell the story of why baseball has been part of Wichita’s identity for generations.

Wichita State Shockers

College sports fans can cheer on the Wichita State Shockers this spring at Eck Stadium for baseball and Wilkins Stadium for softball. Both teams bring competitive NCAA action and passionate fan energy to campus, making it a great way to experience Wichita’s sports scene. With regular home games throughout the spring, it’s easy to plan a visit around a game, and there are plenty of adventures to be had on and around campus.

Vintage Baseball at Old Cowtown Museum

Step back in time at Old Cowtown Museum, where vintage baseball games recreate the sport as it was played in the late 1800s. Players wear period uniforms and follow historic rules, offering a fun and educational look at baseball’s early days. It’s a unique Wichita experience that combines sports, history and plenty of old-fashioned charm. Games typically take place from April through October.

Banana Ball: Firefighters vs. Coconuts

A one-of-a-kind baseball experience is coming to Wichita when Banana Ball stops at Equity Bank Park May 7–9. Part of the wildly popular Banana Ball World Tour, the games will feature the Firefighters taking on the Loco Beach Coconuts in a fast-paced, entertainment-filled version of baseball known for its unique rules, dancing players and fan-focused fun. Made famous by the Savannah Bananas, the viral sensation has packed stadiums across the country, and Wichita is one of the stops on the 2026 tour.

NBC World Series

Wichita’s deep baseball roots are also on display each summer during the NBC World Series, one of the country’s premier amateur baseball tournaments. First held in Wichita in 1935, the event has brought top collegiate and amateur teams from across the country to compete for a national championship for nearly 90 years. Over the decades, future Major League stars such as Satchel Paige, Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens have played in the tournament, making it a must-see tradition for baseball fans visiting Wichita.
