Hey, Kansas families—summer is underway, which means your chance to explore nearly 20 of Wichita’s top attractions for FREE is right around the corner! The 2025 Sunflower Summer program from Kansas Tourism is kicking off in July, giving all Kansas families with enrolled school-aged kids (Pre-K through 12) free admission to museums, zoos, attractions and more – from July 12 through August 8.

That’s right—FREE entry to nearly 20 incredible Wichita experiences. But with only a few weeks to cram it all in, you’ll want to start planning now. Think big: long weekends, quick getaways, maybe even a return trip or two. There’s no way you’ll want to miss a single stop on this list.

Here’s just a taste of what’s waiting:

The Sunflower Summer Program is a benefit for Kansas families with school-aged children to encourage them to explore, and fall in love, with Kansas. The program is designed to give affordable access to tourism attractions across the state and support the Kansas tourism economy.

Eligible Kansas families will download the Sunflower Summer App to claim tickets to participating venues. One adult ticket is eligible for free admission with eligible students. This is your summer to be a tourist in your own state, and Wichita is the perfect place to start.

Summer fun

Whether your crew loves dinosaurs, art, animals or just running wild in the great outdoors, Wichita has it. And with 8,100+ hotel rooms (many with pools!), it’s easy to turn your weekend trip into a mini vacation. In addition to visiting Sunflower Summer participants, free and affordable fun is waiting around every turn in Wichita.

And don’t stop there! Be sure to snap selfies with Wichita’s many murals, catch the “Ring of Fire” at the Keeper of the Plains and cap it off with ice cream at a retro favorite like Old Mill Tasty Shop. There are more than 220 attractions statewide in the program, but Wichita’s packing a big punch.
