Looking for an affordable family adventure this summer? The 2026 Sunflower Summer program gives Kansas families free admission to more than 200 attractions across the state, and nearly 20 of them are in Wichita and the surrounding area.
From July 9 through Aug. 2, Kansas students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade can visit participating museums, zoos, historical attractions and more at no cost through the Sunflower Summer program. Eligible students attending public, private and faith-based schools, as well as those who are home-schooled, can participate, and one accompanying adult also receives free admission.
With nearly 20 participating attractions and experiences, Wichita makes it easy to turn a day trip or weekend getaway into a memorable summer adventure. Explore everything from aviation and wildlife to art, science and history – all while making the most of your Sunflower Summer experience.

Nearly 20 Attractions. One Easy Decision.
Tickets are available through the free Sunflower Summer mobile app and can be redeemed once per attraction during the season, making it easy to build your own itinerary and experience as much of Wichita as you'd like.
From aviation and wildlife to art, science, history and hands-on family fun, Wichita offers one of Kansas' largest collections of Sunflower Summer attractions. Free admission means more experiences, more flexibility and more reasons to make the drive.

New this year: Music Theatre Wichita joins the lineup
One of the most exciting additions to the 2026 program is Music Theatre Wichita's production of “Elf the Musical.”
Kansas families can enjoy special matinee performances on July 11 and 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Sunflower Summer app beginning at noon on the day of each performance. An additional companion ticket may be purchased for a second adult for just $25.
Experience the holiday magic of Buddy the Elf's journey from the North Pole to New York City in this heartwarming family-friendly production. Rated G, Elf the Musical is a fun way to celebrate Christmas in July and create lasting summer memories together.

Baseball fans can also take advantage of a free Wichita Wind Surge game on July 12 as part of the Sunflower Summer program. Be sure to check the app for ticket availability and details before game day.
