Welcome to the 2024 Social Media Day content creator event in Wichita, Kansas! #SMDAYICT24
We are excited to host you in Wichita, the Heart of the Country. Our vibrant city radiates friendliness and ingenuity as the Air Capital of the World. Here, we're all heart, and all are welcome. From the passionate locals you meet at the 50-plus museums and attractions to the 1,200-plus eateries, kindness and energy will greet you at every turn.

June 26
1 p.m. | Pre-tours
Enjoy hands-on animal experiences at Tanganyika Wildlife Park, which has more than 500 animals in the park and offers more than 15 interactive animal experiences, including feeding lemurs, giraffes and pygmy rhinos. Be ready to depart from the Ambassador Hotel Wichita lobby at 1 p.m. Please dress for hot weather and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. We will return to the hotel by 4 p.m.
The hotel is offering early check-in and/or luggage hold options. Let the front desk staff know if this is something you'd like to utilize.
5 p.m. | Public Art - Downtown Wichita Tour
See some of Wichita’s public art in downtown, including visits to The Workroom – a haven for local artisans – and the Envision Arts Gallery, the first national gallery primarily for artists with vision loss. Be ready to depart from the Ambassador Hotel lobby at 5 p.m.
6:45 p.m. | Welcome Dinner
Enjoy fresh and local dining in the heart of Old Town at Public. They partner with various local and regional farmers and vendors, such as RISE Farms, to offer delicious and eclectic menu items. At 8:35, the bus will leave to experience the iconic Keeper of the Plains, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, to watch the nightly "Ring of Fire."
Looking for a night cap during your time in Wichita? Head to the basement of the Ambassador to experience the hotel’s speakeasy-themed bar, Dockum. Other popular places nearby include Vorshay’s Cocktail Lounge, Mort’s Martini & Cigar Bar and a variety of local breweries.
June 27
8 a.m. to 7 p.m. | Social Media Day Programming
Walk to NICHE for a day of learning and networking at Social Media Day 2024. Programming begins at 8 a.m.
7:15 p.m. | Dinner in the Douglas Design District
Enjoy dinner at The Belmont in the Douglas Design District. Be ready to depart NICHE by 7 p.m.
June 28
8:15 a.m. | Breakfast at Doo-Dah Diner
Experience one of Wichita’s most notorious breakfast joints, Doo-Dah Diner. Be ready to depart from the Ambassador Hotel lobby at 8:05 a.m.
9:45 a.m. | Sedgwick County Zoo
Hear about Sedgwick County Zoo’s BIG news and explore one of the country's top 10 largest zoos. We'll see the elephant exhibit upon arrival and will make our way to Stingray Cove, where you can touch and feed the stingrays. Please dress for hot weather and be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
11:45 a.m. | Culinary Experience and lunch
Mark Arts is a vibrant regional arts hub. The studio provides art instruction, a culinary teaching kitchen, outdoor sculpture area plus so much more. Upon arrival, attendees will be given a brief overview and tour and will then make their way to the culinary kitchen to sample several iconic flavors of Wichita. Food writer and instructor Joe Stumpe will whip up several items and include group participation.
2 p.m. | Wichita State University tour
See The Original Pizza Hut Museum, followed by a visit to Ulrich Museum of Art to view some of the pieces in their collection, in their outdoor sculpture garden and new artwork by GLeo on campus. This tour includes some light walking, so again comfortable shoes are a must!
4 p.m. | Wild West tour
Interactive experiences at Old Cowtown Museum followed by a visit to Delano, where the group can meet Jack Kellogg of Hatman Jack's. We will return to the hotel at 5:30 p.m. Be ready to depart from the Ambassador Hotel lobby at 6:35 p.m.
6:50 p.m. | Wichita Wind Surge game
Take in a game and enjoy dinner from the Fidelity Suite at Riverfront Stadium.
June 29
8 a.m. | Breakfast and bramble tour at Elderslie Farm
Breakfast, a blueberry bramble tour and time to explore Elderslie Farm. Be ready to depart from the Ambassador Hotel lobby at 8 a.m. Be prepared for some light walking around the farm.
10:45 a.m. | Exclusive meet & greet with U.S. National Champion figure skater, Amber Glenn
Experience an exclusive meet & greet with Amber Glenn, a U.S. National Champion figure skater and learn about an exciting U.S. Figure Skating event coming to Wichita in January 2025.
12 p.m. | Lunch at Revolutsia
Revolutsia is a revelation of great food and art. Try a bierock, pastry sandwich filled with savory fillings, at Prost – the best German food in Wichita. Sample the German beer while you’re at it! Afterwards, peek into the shops at Revolutsia. We'll depart Revolutsia at 1:15 p.m.
1:30 p.m. | Optional post tours
